Contributor's comments: I am from Tasmania. When I moved to Perth, no one knew this term. Then a few years later I moved to Sydney and they didn't know either.
Contributor's comments: I suspected 'beastly careless' was a unique Tasmanianism. Having moved from the mainland 10 years ago I have only ever heard the phrase used here but it is one that you would not forget. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!
