tissue

papers in which a person rolls their own cigarettes. As far as I know used only in Tasmania: I want a packet of ready rubbed tobacco & a packet of tissues.

Contributor's comments: An alternative to cigarette papers. Used on the west coast of Tasmania in the 1970s, and, interestingly enough on the west coast of Eire in the 1980s: "I've got the tobacco, but I need some tissues."

Contributor's comments: In my experience, we Tasmanians tend to pronounce this as "tishers" even of we correctly pronounce other uses of "tissue".
