goonbox

a cask of wine: Do you wanna go and get a goonbox and have a few ? Compare boxie, goonbag.

Contributor's comments: A goonbox commonly contains the rougher type of wine, typically red, and usually referred to as 'goon' itself. This may have been obvious from the outset, and forgive me if this is so but I did not see the actual word 'goon' described. I also have this on good authority as my two sons and their friends spend some time discussing the relative merits of the different types of goon available and how bad it has to be before it is called goon.

Contributor's comments: In uni at least on Hobart the more common term heard is goonBAG as the silver bag is more commonly seen at outdoor events and house parties. (Easier to store, excellent traveller.. the list is endless of its uses).
