a pair of thongs (footwear) with only one plug under the foot to hold the footwear together: you just blew the back out of my pluggers.

Contributor's comments: Pluggers may mean what is stated but as a kid in Maryborough Qld, the term "plugger" meant "guava" which grew wild on the banks of the Mary R where we played. It undoubtedly referred to the anatomical implications of eating too many.

Contributor's comments: I grew up in FNQ and never, ever heard thongs referred to as pluggers.

Contributor's comments: The term "double pluggers" applies to thongs that have two sets of plugs going into the sole. They last "heaps" longer.

Contributor's comments: My teenage daughter calls thongs pluggers.
