Contributor's comments: Slushie is an unskilled kitchen hand who usually does the washing up particularly pots and pans. Fairly wide use throughout Qld.

Contributor's comments: As a current student of Geelong Grammar School, the term slushie is still used today as the name of a student who is on duty to clean dishes, serve meals, wipe tables and sweep floors in the dining hall at school.
