Contributor's comments: I said slippery slide as a child in 60s Sydney, but I think I got it from my Queensland parents. I think most Sydney kids said slippery dip.

Contributor's comments: I grew up in the Melbourne Region and we always called it a slippery dip. My father also came from the same region but my mother was a New Zealander. This may have introduced another variation to our use of words.
