sany

sandwich: I ate a ham and salad sany for lunch.

Contributor's comments: I'm sure this is more an English regionalism than an Australian one. I've heard it used a lot there, but only by Poms here. "Sanger" is much more common among the native born.

Contributor's comments: Melbourne, 1960s/70s: heard it but rarely. Pronounced "sarney". As others have said, sanger was more common.
