Contributor's comments: Growing up in North Central NSW it was definitely a nosebleed, hadn't ever heard it called a blood nose until I moved to SE Qld.
Contributor's comments: I have lived in Southern and Central Queensland, and have always understood a 'nosebleed' to refer to one occurring naturally and a 'blood nose' used for one received in a fight.

Contributor's comments: I was from the New England, and only ever heard nosebleed, until I moved to Victoria when I was 48 years old. Then it was always blood nose, and never nosebleed.
Contributor's comments: nosebleed: I came from central NSW, spent time in New England region and Sydney before moving to Melbourne, and like another contributor had never heard the term 'blood nose' used until living in Melbourne. It was always a nosebleed or a bleeding nose. Probably a bloody nose if someone had been in a fight.
