We would buy a bag of mixed lollies from the milkbar. You could get a couple for one cent and a good bag for five cents. Lollies included things like milkbuds, freckles, mates, fags, milk bottles, bombs, etc.: Here's five cents for a bag of mixed lollies.
Contributor's comments: We used to buy bags of mixed lollies at milk bars in Canberra in the 1950s and 60s. If you chose the ones that were 4 for a penny you could get a decent lot even for just threepence!!
Contributor's comments: I grew in the south west of WA in the 50's and 60's and we always used this expressions. Can I have sixpence to get some mixed lollies.
