Refers to grazing cattle along the edge of a road where grass is plentiful: My property is dry with no feed on it so I'm grazing the sheep on the long paddock at the moment.
Contributor's comments: This expression was common in the north west of NSW and in the New England region in the 1950's.
Contributor's comments: I grew up in the 1950's in outer Melbourne and remember this term being used. I have a New Zealand friend who also refers to the 'long paddock'.
