Contributor's comments: More commonly a Yacka in SA, though Kangaroo Tail sometimes used.
Contributor's comments: [Sydney informant] When I was growing up this word was used to describe a whip you made from a diagonally rolled up towel ideally with the tip dipped in water. This 'kangaroo tail' was cracked like a whip with the aim of hitting the backside or legs of the other children at the pool or beach.
Contributor's comments: [ACT informant] I also know a 'kangaroo tail' as a damp beach towel rolled in a diagonal fashion to form a tapered end for use as a locker-room stockwhip.
