Contributor's comments: The Melbourne Sewerage Treatment works are located in the suburb of Werribee, in the southwest of the city. A duck living in Werribee would be up to its neck in it...I first heard the expression about 10 years ago said by someone who grew up in Oakleigh (on the opposite side of the City).Used to describe someone who is in deep trouble: "(so-and-so) is in more shit than a Werribee duck..."
