frozen
a pyramid shaped flavoured ice block commonly sold at milk bars: Let's go to the milk bar after school and buy a frozen.
Contributor's comments: YES! I remember frozens! They had specific names - Sunny Boy, Razz, etc., (this is from the '70s, I have no idea what brands and flavours are being made now) but collectively they were `frozens'. They costed 5c (that really is dating me) and on the inside of the wrapping you could sometimes find a `free' - a yellow message indicating that you could trade the empty wrapper in for a free frozen; there were supposed to be orange ones as well, that would entitle the bearer to 5 free frozens, but I never saw one, and they may have been mere legend.
Contributor's comments: One of the original brands in the 60s was 'Jubbly' -- orange cordial in a tetra-pak originally meant as a drink. Enterprising milk-bar owners discovered they were more popular when sold frozen because they were better value for money than icy poles. So in the early 60s they were called jubblies or frozen jubblies, which later got shortened to 'frozen' when the other flavours and brands came in.
