Chadstone, a south eastern suburb of Melbourne: When I was at Chaddy High school we wore maroon and black flecked frocks.
Contributor's comments: Chaddy has been a local usage word in the Chadstone area for over forty years that I know of.
Contributor's comments: "Chaddy" has referred to Chadstone Shopping Centre, famous now for its ample designer shopping possibilities, enormous carparking facilities and air-conditioning, since at least the mid-1980's, as opposed to just referring to the suburb. Hence, a trip to Chaddy means a shopping trip.
