sieve door

fly screen door: Shut the sieve door, the bloody flies are getting in.

Contributor's comments: Sieve door or sieves (for flyscreens on windows) was used by older residents in Broken Hill when I was a small child. I had presumed that it was derived from the miners use of sieves constructed from similar (although much larger mesh) materials. Regional reference to Yorke and Eyre Peninsula may point to usage streaming from Cornish miners in late 19th Century who populated both areas.
